Jaikumar Sah, Chief Administrative Officer of Jaleshwar Municipality said,- The Local Caste Discrimination and Monitoring Untouchability Committee formed by Jaleshwar Municipality will work for the development and upliftment of the Dalit community.
This was stated in the program of formation of monitoring committee on caste discrimination and untouchability at the local level under the project of "Dalit Empowerment Act 2076" under the project of USAID Civil Society and Communication Project and Dalit Concern Forum Nepal Saptari implemented by The Asia Foundation with the financial support of USAID Nepal on Tuesday in the hall of Jaleshwar municipality.
In that program, the chief administrative officer Sahle said that the action plan program will be conducted by allocating the budget for the protection, development, and upliftment of the rights of the Dalit community.

In the untouchability monitoring committee formation program, a 9-member caste and untouchability monitoring committee was formed at the local level under the coordination of Sudama Devi, a Dalit executive member of Jaleshwar Municipality. The members of the committee are Ram Ekwal Khatwe, Ram Swarup Mahara, Ramesh Paswan, Kishore Paswan, Bikku Paswan and Social Development Branch Officer of Jaleshwar Municipality, Vishwanath Yadav from political parties. Chief Administrative Officer Shah said that one man and one woman from the Dalit community, who are working in the field of Dalit rights, will be included in the committee after a decision from the board meeting of the municipality.
In the committee formation program, the speakers including people's representatives of Jaleshwar municipality, Dalit representatives of political parties said, - The committee has been given the task of doing various programs and activities that will directly benefit the Dalit community. The committee was formed in the presence of National Dalit Journalist Federation Dhanusha President Kuldeep Das.
